I did it! I sent in the manuscript for CSI
COLTON AND THE WITNESS, one of my new books to be published in November, a
Harlequin Romantic Suspense in the Colton series.
I also completed some edits on other books as
well as some promotional projects.
And I’m beginning to work on the fourth story
in my Shelter of Secrets series for Harlequin Romantic Suspense.
Good thing I’m kind of between things, since I
have some details in my life that I need to accomplish soon: renewing my driver’s
license and my passport, both of which are going to take a little time and effort.
But at least I have the time to work on them.
As I mentioned last week, I visited the new Toothsome
Chocolate Emporium and Savory Feast Kitchen at Universal City Walk for the
first time, with family. Good stuff! I’m glad I don’t live too far away since I
want to go back one of these days.
I understand we’re supposed to get some colder
weather and more rain later this week. We still need the rain, so that’s okay, but
some family members in generally colder places in the country have weather as
good as or better than we do in L.A. right now.

Good morning -- Sounds like you have been busy -- keeps you out of mischief!! Renewing license and passport is never fun but a necessary thing to do. My license is good until 2026 and I plan to get just an ID card at that time since I no longer have a car. I moved here from a Texas town of about 16,000 and Phoenix is 1.6 million -- way too big for my driving comfort. I had a great little Chevy Cruz I gave to my granddaughter when she graduated from college -- my son lives nearby and takes me wherever I need to go, which is mainly the grocery or a nursery when I need a few plants. Works great.
Have you seen "80 for Brady"? I'd go again -- it was very enjoyable.
The wind is howling today -- there are numerous palm trees here and they are more than gently swaying. I've read that wind is good for palms -- the movement from wind makes them dig their roots deeper into the ground. I've never seen a downed palm after storms here.
Enjoy your day --
I'm still fine with driving, especially since I live in LA.
I did see "80 for Brady." I really enjoyed it too, even though I'm not a big sports fan these days unless it's a Pittsburgh team. But the movie was a lot of fun with a cast that really did great!
We're told there will be some snow in the mountains around LA. We can see some mountains at our horizon, so we'll be watching for it!
Hope you're enjoying your day too.
Since you mentioned Pittsburgh, I'll tell you a story. My husband and I lived in Gainesville, TX which is just across the Red River from Thackerville, OK where Terry Bradshaw lived -- had a big horse ranch. There was no shopping in Thackerville so people came to Gainesville. We were in Home Depot and I saw Terry -- my husband, who loved to talk to anyone and everyone, went up to him and said "You look like Terry Bradshaw" and Terry said "That's 'cause I am." Floyd said "No, you're better looking than he is -- show me your driver's license. He did and Floyd said "Well, by golly, you are." They talked and joked -- at one point I said "I've never met a celebrity before" -- he put his arm around my shoulder and said "Well, honey, you have now." It was a fun meeting.
Cute story!
