How Books Stay Alive

My sixty-second traditionally published novel, CANINE PROTECTION, will come out in August, the fourth in my Shelter of Secrets series for Harlequin Romantic Suspense,

And I’m delighted that many of those books remain out there in various ways. For example, my first mystery series, the Kendra Ballantyne, Pet-Sitter Mysteries, have been republished as ebooks and are currently also coming out as audio books. And of course I love that series for many reasons, including the fact it starred a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Lexie. And one of the Cavaliers I owned at the time was—you guessed it—Lexie!

Also, as I mentioned before, at least one book in my most recent mystery series, the Alaska Untamed Mysteries, is getting out there in a new way. They were first published in hardback by Crooked Lane Books, BEAR WITNESS and CRY WOLF. And now, BEAR WITNESS is being republished in paperback by Harlequin’s Worldwide Mysteries. They apparently won’t be available in stores, but only on the Worldwide Mysteries website. New cover, too. But less expensive—and still out there!

It’s fun these days that books can stay out there in ways besides having copies sit on shelves in homes and, hopefully, in libraries—but also now in other forms and hanging out that way on the internet.

I love having as many as possible of my books remain out there and available!

Good morning -- Sixty-two published novels -- wow, that is truly amazing!! I've enjoyed all that I have read. I need to get a library card -- a friend told me about something called "Libby" that she uses to read ebooks -- just need to have a library card to access it. When I was a young girl in Lincoln, we lived just a couple blocks from the library -- I spent a lot of time there, reading and looking at pictures on a stereopticon -- that was an amazing device.

The Project Linus drop-off is this Saturday -- I donate blankets every two months -- have 10 ready to go this time. I'm making a good dent in my stash of yarn -- actually have a few open spaces on the shelves.

We're decorating Easter eggs at my son's on Friday -- he's an artist so always has elaborate designs on his. I can't even draw a stick figure that looks decent so I stick with squiggly flowers.

Enjoy your day, your writing and your dogs.

I love the fact that we can still get real books and not just e-books. I love e-books too, especially when I travel.

Congratulations on all your success. 62 books is astounding!!

Happy Easter!

Thanks, Patty! recently got a card from the LA Library that I really like. It features P-22, a now deceased mountain lion who represents the attempt to save wildlife including creating bridges over highways where animals can cross.
Have fun designing blankets and Easter eggs!

I like reading both kinds of books too, Sally, but still prefer print books. But audio too?
Definitely!
