Yes, Researching and Writing

I’ve done a bit of research for the first in my new Harlequin Romantic Suspense series: exploring a couple of places in the Los Angeles area where some of my characters will live or work or both, though some are fictional. Not that I had a lot of running around to do since they’re mostly in the area where I live, though sometimes a distance away. I even planned for a business to be in nearby Glendale, which I’ve visited often, but after I made that decision I wound up going to a movie in that area. So of course I looked around.

That’s part of the fun of researching. Sometimes I have to plan ahead and figure out what to research and what to look at. Other times I simply let my life go on and use what I see or experience in a story.

Oh, and last week I wished you a good last week of July. And now the first week of August is nearly over!

And good thing I’m not talking to you about any of this on the phone or I’d have to get up, steal the latest squeak toy from my younger dog Roxie since she always likes to make noise to get attention when I’m on the phone, and hide the toy till we hang up.

Good morning -- Roxie keeps you moving!! My daughter has a new thing for her dog -- something that she can make throw Scooty a treat when she's not home -- works from her phone. School has started and she did it from her classroom -- projected the process on a big screen in her room so all the kids could see him running down the hall to retrieve the treat.

Finally had some rain here -- not a lot but any is welcome. The poor people in Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas -- 25 inches of rain -- way, way too much.

I continue to crochet -- working on a new pattern -- so far, so good.

This screen on which to write comments is totally different than it has been -- somebody made improvements!! Not necessarily!!

Enjoy your day, research, writing and dogs.

Yes, things do look different here on the comments page, Patty. I wonder what happened!

Congrats on getting a bit of rain. It would certainly help in LA. We had an earthquake yesterday which we didn't feel at our house but a strange alarm went off.

Hope you enjoy your day too!
