I’m excited to say that the
Harlequin Romantic Suspense Facebook page is getting revamped and will be made
more visible and exciting! A few of the HRS authors I saw at the recent
Harlequin 75th Anniversary celebration suggested doing this, and I
loved the idea. I’m definitely willing to contribute. Not sure when it’ll go
into effect but the latest stories, and their authors, will be featured, and
the rest of us will be involved too.
And yes, the manuscript I’m
currently working on is another HRS story, the first in the upcoming new
series—although I still have one coming out next year in the current series. I
visited a local station of the Los Angeles Police Department yesterday to ask
some research questions regarding that story I’m writing now and found the
greeter at the front desk to be a really helpful police officer—including
answering questions about how to hopefully get a car that’s been parked on our
street for many months towed away at last. Maybe. But some of the fictional
characters I’m currently creating are with the LAPD, so learning more about how
the situation I’m inventing—sort of—might actually be handled certainly was
helpful. Oh, and yes, I spoke with that very helpful officer who greeted me
about the station’s K-9s, as well as other dogs.

Good morning -- Sounds like all good things for you. I've never visited a police station but my husband and I stopped at a fire station one day, got a tour and learned all sorts of things we'd never thought about. There's a station near where I live now -- I occasionally take them loaves of bread I bake -- they seem to enjoy it.
As always, I'm doing a lot of crocheting. The weather has cooled a lot -- only 59 degrees this morning -- so it's perfect crocheting weather. But of course for me, any weather is crocheting weather!!
Enjoy your day and your writing.
Good morning, Patty. I don't visit police stations often, although I do sometimes when I need information for research. Plus, when the infrequent K-9 demonstrations occur near me I always attend them.
It's really sweet that you provide home-baked bread for your firefighters!
Have fun crocheting, as always, and keep warm!
Linda, I'm so happy that things are going well for you. Life is calmer now in Central Florida after our hurricane scare. We were so lucky and I'm so thankful. Also love when you talk about your puppies. I'm so happy we got a cat about a year ago. I love dogs but you don't have to walk a cat during a hurricane. Happy Weekend (a little early)
And I'm really happy that things are okay with you, Sally. I can't imagine what you've gone through! We have cats indirectly in our family too--our son's. I'm definitely a dog person but I enjoy the kitties as well. And Happy Weekend to you too!
When I taught first grade there was a fire station and a police station in the neighborhood in walking distance. I always took my classes to them for a field trip. It was so much fun. The kids were treated like royalty. I got a lot of writing out of the kids. They had to write questions to ask about things they wanted to know and afterwards they had to write about their trip.
