Can March really be almost over? Spring is here, but you wouldn't know by the weather today. After several days of sun and warm temperatures, it has turned gray and chilly. I was ready to put away my warm clothes, thinking it was going to be all short sleeves and stretchy capri pants.
The blossoms are on the orange trees with their wonderful scent. The count down has begun for the release of MURDER BY THE HOOK. The same day I'm going to be doing an event on the Facebook group Cozies, Conversations and More. This is different than the takeover I did with another group. That was all posts and me responding to comments. This is going to be live with video. I'm doing it with another writer, Karen Smith. I think we are supposed to interview each other. We're still working that out. She's going to be discussing her first book in a series called a Tomes and Tea Mystery. The book's title is MURDER MARKS THE PAGE.
I'm going to be talking about DEATH AMONG THE STITCHES. I assume we were put together since both books are first in a series and have places with tea rooms.
I'm always self conscious when I do Zoom things. I have my family going by giving me weird look while I talk to a screen. I usually have earphones, so they can't hear that I am actually talking to people.
We all went to see the Snow White movie. You never know how things are going to turn out. I thought I would be bored . But I actually enjoyed it. In this version, Snow White can take care of herself--well, thee still has to be somebody to kiss her and break the magic spell of the apple. It was kind of vague what her connection to the guy who kissed her was and why it would break the magic spell.
As for the others---they freaked out at the evil queen when she became the hunch back old lady who offered Snow White the apple. Who would have thought it would bother them with all the stuff they usually watch?

Good morning -- March has flown by -- one-quarter of 2025 almost gone!! Next month has two special birthdays -- yours and mine!!
The weather here has been beautiful, though it is chilly this morning. The orange blossoms are in full bloom and giving my poor son all sorts of problems. Too bad such pretty things cause such a terrible reaction for some people -- he's had to start taking allergy shots.
I've started reading Dorothy Howell's "Seams Like Murder." The main character is working on pillowcase dresses to be sent to Africa. I'm not fond of how they look but do like t-shirt dresses -- a couple years ago, I made dozens of them for a friend who works to support an orphanage in Haiti -- she says the poverty there is overwhelming. Sadly, she had to stop going there because of the danger.
I'm doing my usual crocheting -- making a blanket in the basketweave pattern, using ombre yarn in a color called Sea Coral -- so pretty. Not that I need more yarn but I did get some new colors of the ombre yarn -- it works up beautifully.
Getting close to the date of release for the new Molly book -- I'm ready!!
Enjoy your day and whatever you choose to do.
Patty, Dorothy brought one of the pillow case dresses to the library event. I think your t-shirt dresses were more comfortable. It's wonderful that both of you made any kind of dresses little girls in need.
The blanket you're working on sounds lovely.
Is there going to be another tea room mystery book? I really liked "Death Among the Stitches."
Have you ever made the mandarin orange cake that uses a can of the oranges, juice and all, in the batter? It is so good and very easy to make -- my favorite way to do anything -- good and easy!! Hey, at my age I'm entitled!!
Finally made it back, Another 3 months in convalescent home over kidney and arthritis problems, I had my poor phone which wouldn"t pick up your Friday spot, Then found out I HAVE 2 CATARACTS to be removed in April and May, When is Molly due? Right now I can barely read or type, can:t see well at all. I can:t even work on my little dresses for Africa. Keep writing I have hope!
Patty, I was waiting until I actually signed the contract to say anything, but there is going to be another Crochet and Crumpet book. For now the title is SCONED TO DEATH, but it could change. AI have already started working on it. I haven't tried making a mandarin cake, but it sounds good. I'm all for easy too.
Linda Osborn, I am so happy to hear from you. Good for you for getting out of the convalescent home. I'm sorry about the cataracts though it seems that surgery is very successful. I'm sure you will be able to sew again after the surgery. The Molly book MURDER BY THE BOOK comes out April 8. Eventually it will be on audio, but by then your eyes will already be back to normal. DEATH AMONG THE STITCHES came out on audio this month.
I'm so glad you are doing better!
You are going to stay busy Betty. How wonderful you keep writing. Do what you love. We are still continuing with cooler than normal weather here in Orlando. It's okay with me as when the summer hits it can be brutal.
Ready for Murder by the Book to come out.
Sally, I am grateful to be able to keep writing. It makes everything in my life more interesting. It was fun to show Jakey his name in the acknowledgements. Summers here in Southern California can be really hot as well, but we have the blessing of cool nights.
