My latest book has been out there over a week now: CANINE REFUGE, the fifth and final story in my Shelter of Secrets series for Harlequin Romantic Suspense. Looking back, I feel I wasn’t very diligent as I wish I’d been now in letting the world know about some of the earlier books in the series— though I did mention them online and otherwise— but I’m trying to do even more promotion this time.
For one thing, I’ll be attending the
Los Angeles Times Festival of Books in a couple of weeks and spending time at
the Sisters in Crime and Mystery Writers booths—where CANINE REFUGE and other
stories will be available.
I’ve been doing more online chats,
though not a lot. And, I’m sending out the newsletter I previously mentioned,
which I haven’t done for a while, but I’m being encouraged to do it more often.
In any case, I still like the premise:
a very special shelter where homeless animals are taken in and cared for and
found new homes, is also a very special place for people in danger, who are
also taken in and treated even better than the animals. For, yes, these are
also romances, as well as suspense!
Anyway, I’ll miss that series but as
I’ve mentioned, the one I’m working on now, with K-9s and PIs, is also
enjoyable.
In fact, time to get back to working
on it now! Assuming my dogs will let me. They've been snacking all day but claim they're hungry.
