This really doesn't have to do with writing. I just thought it was funny. We got a notice that they are filming around the corner from us today. The form they leave always has information about what they're filming and details about the location manager and such in case there is a problem.
They are filming Murder on Elm Street season 2. I was curious about the show and looked it up online and it turns out it's a reality show about assorted murders that all occurred on different Elm Streets.
But the street they're filming this reality show is called Calvin St.. It makes you wonder how real a reality show is.
MURDER BY THE HOOK is out in the world now. I found out that it is being spotlighted for April and May by Barnes & Noble as a Top Indie Favorite eBook.
I did my live chat with Karen Rose Smith for the Cozies, Conversation and More Facebook group. I am getting more comfortable talking to a screen. But it's kind of funny what was going on behind the scenes here. I was in my dining room which flows into the rest of the common areas of my house. In other words, no doors to be shut. There are three French doors that lookout on the yard and also the kitchen door which is the one we mostly use to come in the house.
Jakey was in the den doing some video thing where he talks to other kids. They all get very excited and there is often screaming, singing, etc. The den was right behind me and again no doors that could be closed.
While I was doing the video chat, Jakey got caught up in the moment and I could hear the sound level rising. Then there were footsteps and Jakey being hustled past the dining room and out the door to go back to the converted garage we call the studio. All was peaceful for a while and then I saw Jakey coming to the backdoor and not being able to get it open. I was considering going to let him in, but then he disappeared.
At least the cat didn't walk across the keyboard of my lap top.

Good morning -- Your house sounds a lot like Molly's -- always something going on!! I've been at my son's when my grandson is playing computer games online with friends -- it does get loud.
Those reality shows always seems far, far from reality -- at least, not a reality I'd want!!
"Murder by the Hook" arrived just as I was finishing lunch on Tuesday -- I spent the afternoon reading. Molly and the Hookers had some weekend in Ojai -- partying with celebrities, trying to identify a kleptomaniac, being involved with a death involving presumed aliens and a space ship, and Molly's relationship with Mason. I'm not a fan of Adele but I love the way she and her husband departed Ojai!! And the t-shirt Molly bought for Marlowe with "Oh Hi" -- how cute!! Is the fairy godfather going to appear in another book?
The chocolate cake sounds yummy -- the recipe is in my file. I have a couple ideas to make a scarf similar to the book's pattern but without having to sew squares together -- I really, really don't like doing that!!
Summer is definitely here -- it was 98 yesterday. My little condo is concrete block construction -- great insulation. I didn't have to turn the a/c on.
Enjoy your day and whatever you chose to do.
Patty, I would be interested in hearing how you make the scarf without having to sew the squares together. Having to attach them is not my favorite part.
We've been getting a dose of summer, too. It's always the battle of the air conditioning. I leave it off and the others in the house turn it on.
Enjoy your day!
Amazon didn't deliver my book until 10 Wednesday night., I was shocked. Yesterday i read about half way through with my magnifing glass. Tuesday is now scheduled for my first cataract surgery, and i am nervous but anxious to get it over with.. Then on to May for the left eye. Somehow I have always imagined Molly's house to be a lot like your own home. Large and comfortable, and welcoming to all. Do you know as yet if there will be another Molly book ? Hope so !!
I'm going to make one using the rectangular granny pattern -- won't have the look of squares but I'll change colors each row. Just have to figure out how long to make the beginning chain. I also plan to make one using CeeCee's granny stripe pattern -- just scarf width, not blanket width. I'll probably do a row of black, then several rows of various colors, alternating to the desired length, then a row of black around the entire scarf. That's my plan and I'm sticking to it!!
We get notices too when there's filming going on in our neighborhood, even if there's no indication we'll be affected.
And you're lucky your grandson is near you so he can interrupt your interviews! Mine live far away. But my younger dog likes to squeak her toys if I'm online or on the phone and not paying attention to her.
Patty, Your crochet plans sounds interesting! I know you asked about the fairy godfather showing up again. I hadn't thought about it, but who knows.
Linda Osborn, I will be sending good vibes your way for your surgery to go well. I can completely understand that you want to get it over with. Molly does live at my house. I have often walked through the living room expecting to see Barry sitting on the couch. There will be another Molly book. I think I even started writing down some notes.
Linda O. Johnston, I am so grateful to be able to see my grandson almost every day. I'm sure your dogs just want to get in on the action.
I want to know what is in his pouch!!
My book is in the mail and on the way. I'm excited to get it. We get notices of filming in my neighborhood too. I live on a street of condo buildings and the next street over is homes. I never see any filming going on. I was on the Facebook talk. It was very interesting. You did a great job. It was fun to see all the crochet items. I didn't hear Jakey at all.
Just finished Murder by the Hook. Molly's latest adventure was so fun and interesting. Loved it. I'm almost finished with the scarf and I'm planning to make the cake.
Patty if you can share your way to not have to sew the squares together, I would be most grateful. I'm in the middle of finishing a granny blanket. It's a chore. But who am I kidding? I love it.
Miriam, thank you for being on the Facebook talk. I'm glad all the rushing footsteps and voices weren't audible. When they film around here, we usually see or hear them though I didn't see anything the other day. There was a reality show years ago with Carnie Wilson. On the show, she said her house was in Toluca Lake, but it was actually around the corner from us. I never saw them filming, but clearly recognized the house on the show.
I will definitely share, if it works out as I hope it will!!
