What happened? It was sunny last week and warm bordering on hot. Today is solid gray gloom and it's cold. Just when I was shoving my warm clothes to back of the closet, I had to pull them out again.
It's been a week of dealing with all different writing projects. I received the contract for a second Crochet and Crumpet book. It's all online now. Even signing it.
The audio company that puts out the audio editions of most of my books is celebrity that KILLER HOOKS has been out for a year and they're offer a great price. At the same time, the same company needed a PDF of MURDER BY THE HOOK for the narration of it.
I have seriously started working on the second book in the Crochet and Crumpets series. While at the same time doing research for the next Yarn Retreat book.
Jakey is on vacation this week, so we took a day trip to Ojai. It is so interesting going there after writing about it. I see places and think of who I had sitting there talking in MURDER BY THE HOOK. We went to a grocery store across from the police station and I imagined Molly and Mason leaving there as it was getting light.
The playground at Libby Park is one of Jakey's favorite stops. It also happens to be near where a lot of the action in the book took place. The ethereal concert took place in a courtyard right in front of the playground. Across the street is the Arcade where Molly and Mason went shopping and got ice cream.
I mentioned the pink moment in the book, but it seemed like we had always left there before dark and I never actually saw it and depended on photos and my imagination. We got a late start on the day and so were leaving at sunset and I got to see the sky turn pink. Our last stop was at a grocery store to load up on more pixie tangerines.

Good morning -- Yes, the weather is the same way here -- very warm, then chilly again. It's only 61 this morning -- definitely sweatshirt weather.
I'm glad to hear there will be another Crochet and Crumpets book -- the first one was so good. Will you get to add a recipe to the new one? I've yet to get to Trader Joe's to buy crumpets -- need to do that soon
My son and I went to our favorite Vietnamese restaurant yesterday for my birthday lunch -- garlic shrimp with sweet peppers and onions is delicious. We're having a family get-together on Sunday when everyone is able to be at Danny's house.
I'm trying a new crochet stitch -- a front post double crochet. A pattern I found has that stitch alternating with double crochets across the row -- makes a rather ribbed pattern. I'm using the speckled yarn -- so far, so good.
Wonder if the Easter bunny will deliver eggs on Sunday -- with the high price, it will stretch his budget!! I've heard people are decorating potatoes and even marshmallows.
Enjoy your day, your writing and whatever else you choose to do.
Patty, I don't know if there will be a recipe in the next Crochet and Crumpet book. Happy Birthday. You are a fellow Aries. The new stitch sounds interesting. It's great how you can add texture with a slight change like that. Good point about Easter eggs this year. We have plastic eggs we use every year for an Easter egg hunt. They come apart so we put candy in them.
Enjoy your family get together on Sunday!
Congrats on the contract for the new Crochet and Crumpets book, Betty! Yes, contracts and signing seem a bit odd to former attorney me, but better online than not at all.
And I agree about the weather. I heard there'd be sprinkles today but we didn't have any around our house, and my online weather sources don't seem to suggest any more will be in the near future. But it's definitely cooler than it usually is in mid-April in LA.
Crochet and crumpets sound like good activities for the weekend. :)
Linda O. Johnston, finally a sunny morning!
Sally, I agree!
Well, a sunny day at last, I don't care for the gloom. The cataract surgery was a piece of cake. No pain at all, just itchy at times! Next month is the smaller one, so I am ready this time. With my eye already so much better, I got through Molly's adventures. She is indeed smothered in men right now. Of course I wil always have my choice for her, as you know.
We celebrated Easter today, since so many have two families to deal with now. Plastic eggs were the order of the day.
Always looking forward to the next adventure !
Linda Osborn, I'm so happy the cataract surgery went so well. Happy Easter. Glad we all have some sun.
Happy Easter everyone!
I am also glad to hear that a new Crochet and Crumpets book will come out. I have had two sunny days in a row. It warms up outside but inside it is still cool.
I'm very glad to hear your surgery went well.
Miriam, it is nice to have the sun back. We went west yesterday to our favorite deli. The hills between Calabasas and Agoura were all spring green. So beautiful!
Keep it up Vector Tracing
