Travel and Unreal Animals

I’m sure those of you who read my blogs and any of my books know how much I love animals, especially dogs. But I guess I also like fictional creatures, or at least somewhat. My husband and I went to see How to Tame Your Dragon, and I really enjoyed the animation combined with real people. I came to care a lot for the main dragon in the cast!

Last week, we were traveling with family in the east, visiting Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. I’d been to both but not for a long time, and it was particularly fun to be seeing the sights again, this time with our grandsons who hadn’t been there before. They seemed impressed with sights like the Liberty Bell and interesting places and monuments in D.C.

Home now with the dogs, who were well cared for by our usual sitter part of the time and our younger son for the rest. It’s always fun to be greeted by them when we get home.

And now, unsurprisingly, I’m back to my writing.

Good morning -- "How to Tame Your Dragon" looks like it might be fun to see -- I haven't been to a movie in ages -- most are too violent or vulgar for me.

We went to Washington DC in 1984!! It is a very impressive city. I remember seeing the Pentagon from the airplane as we got close to landing. We were on a guided tour of the area which was great -- it was early April and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom -- gorgeous.

There were a couple minor earthquakes in my daughter's area a couple days ago. One of her dogs wasn't bothered at all, the other had a panic attack. Loud noises bother both of them -- she got thunder shirts for them which hopefully will help with the coming 4th of July -- there are always lots of loud booms around her place.

You continue with your writing -- I continue with my crocheting. I had just put the last stitch in a blue blanket when I got a text from my son, asking if I had a blanket for a baby boy -- a friend is expecting any day. I sent Danny a picture -- he texted back "Wow, you're fast!"

He and my grandson are bringing Taco Bell for lunch today -- we'll be trying their new crispy chicken tacos.

Enjoy your writing, your pups and whatever else you do.
