Almost Done

SCONED TO DEATH is due August 31and while I will have the ending done by then, I need to go over the whole manuscript again.

I had planned out to write the draft of the book and set aside while I wrote a draft of the next Yarn Retreat book. I expected to have plenty of time to do the rewrite of SCONED TO  DEATH and go over the manuscript another time.  Then when it was done and back to my editor, I would work on rewriting the Yarn Retreat book.

It would have worked except for all the health issues with my husband. The people who work at the hospital and rehab place all have their shifts end.  Mine does not.  It is a relief that he can now do more for himself.

As it is, I only asked for an additional two weeks for SCONED TO DEATH.  It's another story for the next Yarn Retreat book.  I have the basic plot worked out and some notes, but that's it.

It's due September 30,  and I'm sure I'm going to need more than a two week extension.

The hard thing about writing is that you can sit down at your computer and be all set to work, but your muse has decided to take time off and  your editor's voice is in your head forever saying "that doesn't track," when you type a sentence.

Trying too hard simply does not work.  I need to get away. I need to do something fun to recharge my battery.  I'm supposed to go to Disneyland tomorrow with Jakey and my son and I'm hoping that might be it.  Even though it will take a lot of advance planning to be away for that many hours.
