Escape

The rewrite has become more of a do over.  What I had written was all over the place.  I hope what I have now is better.  I am just at the point of turning to the end.  I actually have nothing to rewrite from because so much has changed from the draft I started working from.  I have an idea what happens, but I know that most of it will evolve as I get there.  It is exciting and worrisome at the same time. Will it work out or will I realize there is a hole in the story?

The weather has turned really hot and there is a lot going on around me, which makes me  glad to have the distraction from it all as I help Annie Sara save the day.

I always take it as a big compliment when I hear from a reader that one of my books helped them get through an illness or they read them while they were in dialysis or chemo.  I love that I was able to offer them a way to get away from it all for awhile.  The cool thing is that it works that way for me too.

So for awhile I can ignore the pings on my phone with messages  asking me to get this or that or do something.  I am off in the red school house in Indiana watching fireflies do their magic and my characters solve a murder and straighten out their lives..

Good morning -- You do have a lot going on -- hope the rewriting goes well.

We had a crazy storm last night -- pouring rain, flashing lightning and booming thunder. It settled down before I went to bed, thank goodness, and is bright and sunny this morning.

I finished the horizontal stripes granny blanket -- used an ombre yarn and it looks good. And a bonus of very few yarn ends to weave it!!

Enjoy your day -- do you have any time for crocheting?

Patty, that sounds like quite a storm. I'm glad it was over quickly.

You are sure fast at finishing blankets. It's always a bonus if you don't have to weave in too many ends.

I did crochet for a little while the other day. But just as I was getting into the rhythm of it, the interruptions started.

What a day !! It has turned very hot, without the overcast morning that starts the day peacefully.
Today would have been my husbands birthday, so I am celebrating by battling an ant invasion. They are turning up everywhere today. When I see one little scout head out by himself, I have the overwhelming need to stomp him. This helps me improve my wheelchair skills, as I spin and chase ! Something for a good distraction today.

Linda Osborn. Sorry about the ant battle. It's the hot weather. I had a trail of them today. It has to be much harder to deal with them if you're in a wheel chair. I hope you had a better way to remember your husband's birthday once you KO'd the ants.

Revisions can be challenging, Betty, but also fun. I generally like to do revisions to try to make sure everything is written the way I hoped it would be!
And I identify with the ant issues in the previous comments!
