It's amazing what a week can do. The Mohs surgery on my face is mostly forgotten. The skin colored tape is off and all that's left is a scar that kind of fits in with my wrinkles. The hot weather has cooled and we've had some cool gray mornings. I love the cheerfulness of the sun, but the more moody skies have been a welcome change. Yesterday, I didn't have to turn on the AC. Yay!
I have been plowing ahead with the last go over of my manuscript. There have been a few uh oh moments when I came to plot errors, but so far I have been able to fix them. That's always the big fear when I go over a manuscript--that there will be a huge hole in the plot.
I have only a few more days to finish up working on it, so I am letting mostly everything else go. That means a lot of cleaning will be waiting for me. For now, it's keep the sink clear of dirty dishes and water my plants--and take out the garbage and be sure to feed the cat. As if she would let me forget.
I like having something to focus on so intently, but I'm always glad when it's done. For a few days at least. Then I will pick up working on the next Yarn Retreat book. But only until I get the edits on SCONED TO DEATH and have to go back to it.
It's funny how i long for leisure and then feel kind of empty when I have it.
