Rain!

And just like that it went from summer and needing the air conditioner to winter and needing some heat to take the chill off the air.  We got rain and not just some little drizzle.  It was like a winter storm with enough wind to blow the casket that was part of Jakey's Halloween decorations into the yard.  The ghost hanging from the tree looks as if getting wet made it dis-spirited.

Suddenly the Christmas stuff at Costco doesn't t look so out of place.

I am in a place where I am shuffling projects.  I have been working on the next Yarn Retreat book, KNOT A DEAD END and getting into the flow of the story.  Then this morning I heard from the Crochet and Crumpets series editor that I will be getting the edits of SCONED TO DEATH next week.  I expect there will be a short deadline for my revision, so Casey, Dane and the rest of the Yarn Retreat people will be left to talk among themselves until I can get back to them.

To get in the mood to work on SCONED TO DEATH, I started a crochet project that my main character, Annie Sara might make. I already made a red hen like she makes in the book and now I'm making a little white one from a kit I got at Walmart.  I already had to make changes in the pattern and rip it all out and start over.  Frustrating as that is, I think I like the challenge of figuring out how to make it all work.

Just like much as I enjoy the speed of doing easy crosswords,  it is very satisfying to figure out the  "medium" crosswords.  I like the idea of learning new things and hopefully stretching my horizons.
