Things Are Looking up

 

It seems the year just started and already February is rushing along. I am working on the next Yarn Retreat book, BUT KNOT FOR ME,  so instead of picturing Chicago as I do for the Veronica books, or my own backyard, for Molly’s stories, I’m heading up to the Monterey Peninsula in my head.

It’s all about fog, the sound of the ocean and the smell of fireplaces.  Brisk weather that brings a glow to your skin.  It is fun to reconnect with the characters and to think of an interesting yarn project to include and to come up with a muffin recipe.

I have been taking time to read a little. I have been so intent on writing, it’s nice to be a reader. Books have been piling up on my Kindle and I read a cute romance and then read my first Perry Mason book.  Next I’m going to read an actual print book I bought a while ago.  I think it’s called The Keeper of Lost Things.  I started it before, but got interrupted, so am going to start it all over again. There is nothing like escaping into a book.  I discovered that I read better without my glasses and that the Kindle type is adjustable.

I think all the kinks are out of my website.  It’s amazing all the things to be considered.  The wrong thumbnail was showing up on Facebook.

It feels like life is opening up again.  I got a haircut and have enjoyed a number of meals out.  An author’s luncheon that was cancelled has been rescheduled.  The daffodils are blooming in my yard.   All the summer stuff is showing up at Target and Costco.   The sun is higher in the sky and staying up longer.
