I’m back to mostly working on my current story for my new K-9s and PIs series for Harlequin Romantic Suspense. With all that delayed me previously, I’m really happy that I got my deadline extended.
And this weekend, I’ll be participating
in a talk on dogs and cats in mysteries! It’s unsurprisingly called Crime is Going to the Dogs--and
Cats. It will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 1 PM at the Agoura Hills Library
in Agoura Hills, California. My panel-mate will be Judith Gonda, and our
moderator is Peggy Rothschild. Should be fun!
The
special event in celebration of the California Wildlife Center that I mentioned
previously will be on Thursday—and it also takes place at the Agoura Hills
Library. I don’t think I’ve been there before, now twice in one week! Well, I
do like libraries.
Won’t
be bringing my dogs to either event, although they certainly help me write my
mysteries and romantic suspense stories that contain dogs.

I love when dogs and cats are featured in stories. We had dogs for many years but now that we're older and don't have a fenced in yard for them to run we are sticking with a cat. To my disappointment though she was a super affectionate kitten, not so much now. She is a little diva. But she brings me happy moments. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Cats can be fun too, Sally. Our son has several and I enjoy their different personalities when I'm visiting. But I'm definitely a dog person, and I chose Cavaliers because of their loving nature, among other things. Although our yard is fenced, I always accompany my pups when they go outside to make sure they behave--and no mockingbirds or other wildlife go after them! Hope you have a wonderful weekend too.
The Agoura Hills library is charming and cozy. The staff is great. Peggy Rothchild was the moderator of the last one I did and did a wonderful job. Have fun!
